Promo Code Task GuideGENERAL INTRODUCTION
What is a Promo Code task?
A Promo Code task is simply a task in which sellers and influencers use promo codes as a key part of the promotional content that is being created. For each task, a promo code will be promoted by an influencer on either AliExpress Feed or Social Media. In return for their work, the seller will pay the influencer in 1 of 2 ways. Either the seller will pay the influencer a set fee based on the number of times the code is used, or the seller will pay a commission fee rate based on how much the buyers purchase after clicking on the code.
What is the purpose of a Promo Code task?Promo codes are popular in key foreign markets and are in line with many people's shopping habits.Which sellers can create promo codes and Promo Code tasks? At present, the use of promo codes on AliExpress is still in the early, testing phase. If you already have permission on the system to create promo codes, then you will automatically have permission to create Promo Code tasks in the AE Connect platform.
How do Promo Code tasks work? The overall process for a Promo Code task is similar to a Fixed Price task. Payment, for example, is handled outside of the AliExpress platform.

Main Points:
• Automatic Application Review: After an influencer applies for a task, the system will automatically review and approve their application. This allows influencers to more quickly obtain a promo code and begin their promotion.
• Samples: The system is set to 'Sample Not Available' by default.
• Payment Options: The seller may pay the influencer in 1 of 2 ways – either the seller will pay the influencer a set fee based on the number of times the code is used, or the seller will pay a commission fee rate based on how much the buyers purchase after they’ve clicked on the code. The influencer's commission will be based on the final purchase amount, after any refunds or returns.
• Data & Payment: The promotion data, such as how many people used the promo code, will be available 1 day after the promotion ends. For this reason, payment can only be made, at the earliest, 2 days after the promotion ends.
• Content Submission: Content submission is optional for this kind of task. That is to say, if the influencer does not "submit” their content, but their work does meet the task requirements and they do promote the promo code, the seller is still required to provide payment to the influencer.

KEY NOTES - FOR SELLERS1. To create a Promo Code task, enter AE Connect, click 'Create new task' and select 'Store Promo Code'.2. Go through the page and fill in all the relevant information.
3. Make sure to use the correct Promotion ID.
The Promo Code task you create on AE Connect will be connected to the Promotion ID that was generated when you created a promotion in the Sellers' Center. If you don't yet have a Promotion ID at this stage, you'll need to get one to continue. Please note the following when doing so:
• In the promotion creation page, you'll see that you can set the promotion to 1 of 2 settings: 'Seller' or 'AE Connect' (as shown in the image). Please set it to 'AE Connect'. The advantage of generating a separate kind of Promotion ID for AE Connect tasks is that it will be easier to track and control the budget of AE Connect promotions (vs. your normal seller promotions).
• On the same page, you can also specify the promo code redemption limit. For any given promotion, there may be more than 1 promo code, based on how many influencers are working on the task. However, regardless of how many unique promo codes are generated, there will be an overall limit (i.e. redemption limit) on how many times the codes can be used, in total. This feature is particularly helpful when it comes to controlling the promotion budget.
Example: If you set the limit to 100, the total number of times that all the promo codes together can be used is 100.
• You'll also need to set the promotion start and end times, and you'll need to be strategic about the dates you choose. Influencers can only be paid after the set end time has passed, so if the task goes on for too long, influencers will be less likely to work with you. The recommended promotion time is about 1 month.

4. Determine which influencer payment "mode" you want to use.
For each task, there are 2 main payment "modes" that you can choose from.
• The first option is the 'Flat Rate' payment mode. This means that every time a shopper uses the promo code, you will need to pay the influencer a set fee. If you want, you can also set up a minimum "threshold". In this case, payment will only be required if the task is "successful" and the number of people who used the code is higher than the minimum threshold requirement.
Example: If the flat rate fee is US $2/use and the promo code is used 20 times, you will need to pay the influencer $40 (US $2 x 20 = $40). In this same example, if the threshold is set to 10, the task will be considered "successful" and you will need to pay the influencer for each of 20 uses.
• The second option is the 'Commission Rate' payment mode. In this case, you will pay the influencer a commission based on how much shoppers spend when they use the promo code.
Example: If the commission rate is 10% and the buyer spends US $200, you will need to pay the influencer $20 ($200 x 10% = $20).
KEY NOTES - FOR INFLUENCERS & AGENCIES1. If you're interested in doing a Promo Code task, you can filter for suitable tasks under the Store Promo Code tab in the AE Connect platform.
2. When selecting a task, be sure to pay careful attention to the task "submission deadline".
The "submission deadline" is the same as the official end of the promotion. Please note that the earliest possible date of payment is 2 days after the submission deadline. In the example image, the submission deadline is October 31, 2019, which means that the earliest possible date of payment is November 2, 2019. You should search for tasks that are a good balance between a) a sufficient amount of time to promote the promo code and increase your earnings and b) a reasonable expected pay date.
3. Once you have found the right task, click "Apply for task" on the right.
4. To submit your application, go to the Task Details page and click the 'Apply' button.
5. For this type of task, your application will be automatically reviewed by the system. In the 'Awaiting submission' tab, you will be able to see tasks that you have applied for. You can view more information by clicking on 'View Details'.6. If you're an individual influencer, simply click 'Get Promo Code' to get the promo code.
Please note that individual influencers can only get 1 promo code per task.
Once you have requested the promo code, it will appear and remain displayed in the Task Details page.7. If you're an agency, you may actually apply for multiple promo codes at a time.
In this case, when you click 'Get Promo Code', a box will pop up, allowing you to input the total number of promo codes that you want.
Each code that you've requested will appear in the Task Details page. Please be sure to share the codes with the influencers who are signed to your agency and who will be working on the task. In order to maximize the accuracy of our data, 1 code should correspond to 1 influencer.KEY NOTES - FOR INFLUENCERS1. Get creative with how you promote the promo code.
Find new ways to spread the message, share on Feed or Social Media and get your fans excited about the savings they can get when they use the promo code to shop!
Don't forget to share the 'activity rule', or how much they need to spend and how much they can save.
2. Pay attention to the "code type".
If it's marked as "storewide", it can be applied to any item in the store (subject to terms & conditions).
If, however, it's marked as "set products", then its use is more restricted and can only be applied to certain store items (subject to terms & conditions).3. Don't forget to submit your work.
Although content submission is optional for this type of task, it is still highly recommended. Please go to the Task Details page and follow the page prompts to submit your work (e.g. posts, links, etc) before the submission deadline.
PAYMENT INFORMATION - FOR SELLERS1. You should be able to find the tasks that are awaiting confirmation and payment in the 'Tasks to be confirmed' page.
• Status 1: "In Progress"
In this case, the promotion has not yet ended. The payment button will not appear until 2 days after the promotion end date. This is because the promotion data won't be released until the promotion ends, so it's not possible to calculate payment prior to that time.
Status 2: "Confirm payment"
In this case, you may proceed and make a payment. At present, it's not possible to make a payment directly via the platform. However, once the this status appears, you will be able to see the payment instructions and upload proof of payment.
2. You will need to review the data to calculate payment. The system does provide payment estimates, but you should confirm the final amount. To see the data, click 'Promo Code Data Report' in the left hand menu.
3. The data report page will display information for all of your tasks.
In this page you will be able to see the total number of people that used the influencer's promo code ('times used'), how much buyers spent ('payment amount') and the estimated payout ('expected expenses').
4. If you are working with an agency, you will be able to view the data for each of the influencers that worked on the task.
Click 'View details' to see the data attached to each individual promo code.
